Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa (MITT) is a multi-purpose container terminal located at Thilawa near the mouth of the Yangon Rive. The terminal offers a comprehensive range of safe, efficient and productive services to the shipping industry 24 hours a day seven days a week.
MITT is located just 25 kilometers from Yangon,the largest city in Myanmar and the country’s international trade portal, through which 90 percent of the nations maritime trade passed. The terminal is also adjacent to the Thilawa Special Economic Zone planned to become operational by the middle of 2015.
MITT have five berths capable of handling a wide variety of cargo, Large Vessels with deeper draft could dock at MITT compared to at city terminals. There is also a rail line right into the terminal linking MITT not only with Yangon city but also with the national rail network.
MITT provides international standard service with berthing capacity for five ocean-going vessels of up to 2,000 TEU feeder ships and conventional cargo ships of 35,000 tons dead weight MITT facilitates container trucking service and inland shipping barges to ensure cost effective and efficient movement of cargoes. There is also a container barge service between MITT and Shwe Pyi Tha Industrial Zone. MITT applies the most strongest safety and environmental rules in line with ISPS code security standards. The Myanmar Integrated Port Limited (MIPL) is established on an area of 37 acres (150,000m2) allocated for port services. The facilities of the MIPL terminal are designed to handle both bulk liquid cargo (edible oil) and general cargo. Located at Plot (4), Thilawa Port area, along the shore of the Yangon River, the landing constitutes a perfect berthing place for conventional vessels.
A strategic location, MIPL provides direct access to Thilawa Special Economic Zone and commercial areas. The port is a one stop service facility, equipped to handle all sorts of cargo, from liquid bulk vessels to RORO, project cargo, cruise ships, bulk carriers and LOLO.
MIPL has a skilled and stable workforce with a highly developed and modern infrastructure as well as an extensive warehousing and storage capacity. APEX Gas & Oil Public Company Limited was incorporated on 16 January 2013 with registration No.4334 and established the Great Petroleum Terminal. The Great Petroleum Terminal is the first standard private petroleum terminal in Myanmar certified in accordance with ISO 9001-2008.
The terminal operates a full range of storage tank services. gasoil (diesel), gasoline (magas 92/95, etc.) and terminal related logistics services for both local and import/export use. Moreover, gasoline are provided to their 19 filling stations and more than 30 of their partners’ filling stations.
Myat Myittar Mon Company Limited was incorporated on 3 April 2000 with registration No.14 and established the Myat Myittar Mon Petroleum Terminal in Thilawa. The terminal is in operation using the four tanks listed above and Myat Myittar Mon is building additional four storage tanks in the terminal.
